Cruise Day 7 - Livorno, Italy (Florence)

The port today was Livorno, Italy. We took a shuttle to a bus stop and we got on another bus that took us to Florence, Italy. Florence is beautiful. It felt safer than previous Italian cities and was less stinky and dirty.

We explored a bit until 1:00 when we had tickets for La Galleria Dell' Accademia where Michelangelo's David is. It was absolutely incredible to see.

We went to the Piazza del Duomo

Lunch was pizza Napoli. It had anchovies and capers which the kids didn't really like but they ate and were very polite about it. The server came with a special pizza for the kids and the cook told us it was for Scarlett. It was very nice!! I had a Cafe Americano.

This is where the Medici family lived and ruled from. Other than the Boelyn's, they are my favorite to watch and learn about.

The Medici's made this covered bridge so the women could walk from one home to the other. There were too many "filthy" people on the bottom of the bridge so he built a covered part.

We met back at the meeting spot at 4:00 and got on the bus which was about 1 hour 25 mins back to Livorno. The kids immediately fell asleep and I did shortly after.

Sunflower Field

In the evening, we watched a "Bravo" show in the theatre. It was classical and opera music. Not my cup of tea but the kids loved it.
